Too many "assumptions"

Pros

Good pay and benefits, some good employees to work with - those that are left.

Cons

Poor leadership, culture, toxic work environment and work-home balance. The combination of UserTesting and UserZoom has been one big mess to say the least - no plans and so many rushed and botched projects to bring the two companies together - tools, software, systems, products.

Pros

Highly agile team, creative marketing and sales team, pleasant people to work with

Cons

Middle management unreceptive to feedback, C-level managers unreceptive to feedback when coming from lower level employees. Teams can be very clique-ish, and that plays directly into how work is done.

Thank you for your feedback. Good management starts with having a good relationship with those being managed. We put a lot of resources into making sure that our managers have ample training opportunities to be efficient and effective leaders. This seems to be working, as in our quarterly employee engagement survey our employees are more satisfied with management than ever before. It’s important to us that our employees feel empowered and valued by their managers, so I’m disappointed that it sounds like you didn’t have the positive experience that we want our employees to have. If a UserTesting employee ever has a poor experience with a manager, or a colleague for that matter, we have an open door policy in which we encourage them to talk to another colleague, manager or our Peope Team who will help them resolve the situation. Employee retention is something that we pride ourselves on. We have many employees who have been with us for over five years and we have a really good track record of promoting internally so that our employees can grow their careers here. As with any business, employees will come and go. Having said that, there hasn’t been any downsizing that the “continuous layoffs” you write of would refer to. In regard to reconstruction, our Executive Team has got us on a clear path that we’ve been on for quite some time now. Neither our business strategy nor the structure of our teams have changed significantly in the last year. I hope that your next job is a better fit for you, and once again I’m sorry that you didn’t find your time here to be a positive one. - VP, People, Places, & Culture
