Pros

people, interesting work and client base

Cons

Lack of recognition, long working hours, micro-management. Low pay with no real benefits and no pay rise over a year, which is basically a pay cut considering the current economic context. Bonuses are non-existent due to financial challenges, yet they keep having the same excuse for many years despite high profit margins. They keep postponing promotions, yet they have been promoting people in the down low, which screams lack of transparency and ethics. They expect you to go beyond your tasks, yet no recognition or promotion in sight (unless you are cliquey with the senior management), with a mediocre pay and long hours. Only good side is building your resume but don't last here too long. Very cliquey, obvious favouritism from management to the team. They keep complaining about the high turnover rates but do nothing about it. They hire managers not for their expertise, but to bring money, so you end up working for a manager who is incompetent and has no knowledge of the actual practice, only know how to sell work. All talk and no action.

Pros

Great colleagues, good work-life balance (though enjoying this might impact progression, depending on the team), interesting and global work, good brand name when applying for other jobs

Cons

Run like a bit of a boys club with women visibly held to a higher standard than men, below market standard compensation, limited progression, limited investment in training

Pros

Nice team and office location

Cons

Very top down structure. Management have all been there for years and are part of the old boys club. They just rotate around different positions, but obviously all stay at the top. As far as I can see they are all very comfortable and are unlikely to move - why would they? Sometimes I fail to see what exactly they really do on a day to day basis. Apart from get paid lots. Back office teams have ridiculous numbers of managers/ directors. All looking out for themselves and very protective of their positions. Very poor gender/ HR policies and what they do have is often disregarded/ completely ignored. The company needs a reality check.

Pros

The breadth and depth of client issues we work with is great. Also the team vibe and work life balance are above par.

Cons

Does not have competitive salary/bonus and has no interest in changing. Keep saying “we have to cut costs, so no raises or bonuses this year” while showing strong margins.

Pros

Good work/ life balance, N/a

Cons

The HR function is extremely unwelcoming to new joiners (unless joining at the top level). There is clearly an established clique of people who have been there years and they have no interest in getting to know/involving anyone newly incoming. People seem to be in roles due to their tenure with the company rather than based on competency. Pay packets are very low compared to market rates, benefits are awful and the company doesn't care about employee wellbeing. Toxic working culture with more junior members of the team being made feel like they have to stay past their working hours, even when their work is finished. No investment, systems are severely outdated which puts significant strain on employees trying to do work that a system could do in seconds. Management are completely incompetent, however, there is no investment into training. Very little discretion, people will take sensitive calls and have private discussions in the common HR area for everyone to hear. Employees outside HR are lovely.

Pros

Great brand, great opportunity to meet clients. Expand network.

Cons

Senior management are clowns. they too busy with their egos and trying to be comedians (literally). No support. Everyone in the office is competing with each other. You won't learn much here as you would at smaller firms.
