Pros

- Remote working policy - Friday afternoons off - Nice office - Interesting challenges

Cons

The review is divided in 3 key parts: a) toxic work environment traits b) poor management practices c) confirmation bias a) Toxic work environment traits: culture of fear ( threats to perform aka poor motivation/leadership), conflict among colleagues (due to dishonest and unethical practices: Mobbing), dishonesty (to show better performance/results) b) Poor senior management practices: micro-management, lack of effective communication, not providing adequate resources, lack of prioritisation and ignore signs of overwork c) Many people in management positions that stay working at eDreams will try to convince themselves that only the best stay and they will cope with the toxic environment because: they don’t know any other working culture and/or they believe won’t get a better compensation elsewhere Another words of caution: - Titles are inflated to make them look more attractive -They lied to me during the interview process about the role and the resources available to accomplish goals

Pros

- Very stable environment, never had to do any extra hours in 2 years - Most of the time there was few to no pressure nor deadlines - Experience in a big company with millions of users - Ok salary for the job you're doing

Cons

- Boring, repetitive job. Most of the time it has to do with looking into code from 5+ years ago no one knows what it's supposed to do and figuring it out - Involves very little actual programming - A big problem is 90% of developers has been less than one year in the company so there's really very little people who know anything at all about the application. Each week talented people leave the company because it fails to provide anything interesting for them - No one really cares about you doing your job, it doesn't matter if you take 2 days or 1 month to complete a task. There's people procrastinating for whole days and everybody knows it but management doesn't care - Bad team working, many people just try to fly under the radar to avoid problems for themselves and don't care that they are leaving loads of crap for others in the future. When you ask for help many people will try to brush you off as quickly as possible and have no real interest in helping others. There's also some great people as well though - No contact with product, you have no idea what's the benefit or impact of your work although repeatedly asking "why are we doing this?" - No room for change. If you don't like the team you are assigned to initially you might as well change jobs because management is extremely against people moving to other areas (although HR will constantly tell you the company does everything to retain talent) - Management don't care at all about you, in my personal experience the manager didn't answer to any of my emails or requests for a meeting to talk about my situation in the company. They come to ask you to bugfix stuff when there is a problem though - Very bureocratic, very little space for innovation although repeatedly being told to innovate. You are told if you don't do interesting things it's your fault. But really, you can't unless you are part of the friends club that run the company, and have contacts in arquitecture, production service and management areas

Pros

- You become part of a big project - You have great offices

Cons

- No career plans - Salaries are way low average - Everything reduces to who do you know and how well you relate to them instead of how good is your work. - Management in mid levels is doing many things wrong. - Instead of learning best practices I miss them.
