Toxic work environment

Pros

Pay and you can buy a week off in addition to the annual PTO

Cons

Management is horrible. They don't care about anything but metrics and numbers. When you achieve a metric or goal, they raise the bar higher. They are deaf and do not care about the cause to your mental health. Nurses have quit on the spot after calling the internal crisis line. Nurses are leaving for their mental health. Do not apply here, it's an awful place to suffer.

Burnout

Pros

Opportunity to work from home.

Cons

Cigna laid off underperformers with substantial severance packages. Top performers who suffered burnout were retained with more and more work piled upon them. OK, they kept their jobs, but rewarding those who slacked and punishing those who worked hard to the point of breakdowns is cruel. Cigna allows administrators to deliver verbally noxious-harmful, poisonous, and very unpleasant reviews to improve performance. And, as it were, they have severely damaged a number of employees to the point of mental breakdowns. Another caveat, racism! African Americans and people of color (yes, there is a difference) are heavily scrutinized and Caucasians are not! Go figure.

Pros

They are big on working from home so that's a plus. Not much work going on in my department so I get a lot of downtime. They give a good amount of PTO time and company holidays.

Cons

There are too many cons to name. The pay doesn't seem to be competitive and there is little room for growth. Pointless meetings all day even if it doesn't concern you. Not many manager/director level positions available and this company has an older culture so not ideal for younger people. They are taking away company provided internet so we will have to pay out of pocket to work from home. Benefits are average and bonuses seem to go down every year. One year nobody in the company got a raise. Company seems like it's going downhill. A lot of people don't have management experience but are given the roles due to who they know. Hope to be leaving this company very soon.
