Pros

City centre location, in an upcoming tech corridor. I love coming into work each day and seeing my friends, they really make each day fun and full of laughs. The culture that has been created is one of the best I have worked in, very open, enthusiastic and engaged team. The Management Team have created an amazing space to work in. A bright open plan office with amazing views over Galway harbour. Free breakfast, which really helps when you are on a budget and paying back student loans. Birthday cakes each month for all staff. A great sports and social committee who run really fun, diverse and inclusive events.

Cons

So far there is nothing to note.

Pros

- colleagues - free food on certain days - some forms of entertainment - they listen to feedback (if it's negative) - you can talk to your manager when you have problems

Cons

- there are people in the company who are untouchable. Doesn't matter if they have nothing to do all day long, they will remain in the company going for coffees every 3 minutes. - difficult to grow in the company - lots of fake promises being made, so if you get a good job offer I would suggest you to take it. - doesn't matter how hard you work, there will still be people who get promotions while you remain on the same level. - sometimes they "mistakenly" give you less money in the salary saying there was an error, but this happens almost all the time - the finance department is a joke, all the time making mistakes. - lack of clarity in the communications (all types)

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, it’s great to hear that you had a supportive manager and great colleagues, but I also hear your concerns. We strive to make SiteMinder a place where people can fulfill their aspirations, and we pride ourselves on being an equal opportunity employer. With the exception of sales, where promotions happen inline with sales achievement; we advertise all new roles and opportunities internally, and have an objective interview process to ensure fairness in the selection criteria. I would encourage you to reach out to your local P&C Manager to discuss your concerns. With regards to salary payment discrepancies, we have never received feedback regarding this, our finance team goes above and beyond to support employee payroll. I would urge you to contact me directly (Dionne.Niven@SiteMinder) to discuss this matter; timely and accurate payroll for employees is of utmost importance, should there be an issue, it’s important that we discuss and rectify.

Pros

A growing company with many job opportunities

Cons

Unqualified engineering leaders disrespecting engineers. People who may not qualify their role but talks well tend to get recognized and promoted.

Thank you for sharing your comments. I am disappointed to read your feedback as we are not only striving to become a world class engineering organisation, but we do not condone disrespectful behaviour at any level in the organisation. I would be keen to discuss this particular point with you. As you mentioned, we are growing and this has created many opportunities for internal career growth and promotions. We have also invested in a new engineering leadership layer to help us develop our engineering cultural and grow our maturity across the organisation. We recognise that there are growing pains and we won't always get it right, but we follow a robust recruitment process for all internal and external hiring.
