Pros

Learning about the latest technology that helped business grow and develop practical cost effective solutions. The people I worked with and all that helped me be successful at my job. Benefits are very good.

Cons

After years of service, myself and hundreds of AE's get laid off. We are offered a severance package that, at first glace, seems as if they respected our time with the company. That unfortunately was not the case and let me explain. Ricoh sold our division to a dealer. For us to receive the severence, you are required to interview with the new company. If you don't, no payout, no choice. If you complete the interview and are offered a job and don't take whatever they give you, no payout. Only if you interview and are not selected do you get the payout. How is that fair? How does that show your respected the time your employees put in? You hold us as a perpetual hostage for you to save a few dollars? Ricoh took pride in being a company that cares, but you have to "look at the fine print" to see how shady they really are.

Pros

Flexi working at times, but experienced IT professionals still micro managed and treated like children.

Cons

The IT architecture team is an team full of poor management and one which does not know the left hand from the right. Contractors in place for 7 plus years on top day rates. The most inefficient IT dept I have every worked in.

Pros

It's very easy to stand out.

Cons

Backstabbing coworkers. Bosses who claim your work as theirs. Low pay. I was told that I didn't appear to know much about technology because I didn't have a bunch of certs. Nevermind that I had a BS in Computer Information Systems and 12 years of experience. I left Ricoh for a $15,000 pay raise working in IT at a non-profit. It's been another 2 years and I just got a $30,000 pay raise to go work for a technology company. I guess I actually do know something about technology. No joke, I still have nightmares that I have to go back to work there. My car was keyed by a coworker and nothing was done about it. The same coworker would yell at me constantly throughout the day. It was beyond ridiculous. But what made it worse was having a senior manager tell me that I was weak and just didn't understand this individual's strong personality.
