Pros

First of all, this is not a general review but a personal one. I left Montreal Associates before the crisis so I’m mainly going to speak about my time there. No one asked me to write this. If you’ve got any comment regarding my review, you probably got my phone number or my LinkedIn so feel free to contact me. - Make friends for life - Great office location - Best managers I ever had - Great trainings - You can get support from absolutely every single employee. - Salary are low ? > make deals, money will follow I left Montreal Associates beginning 2020 and I’ve worked in 2 recruitment agencies since then. When I look back, I’m just grateful to have been part of the MA family. I arrived in the best team of MA. I was managed and mentored by two person who advise and inspire me a lot. My colleagues were really welcoming and helpful. I was coming from a KPI driven recruitment agency, so arriving at MA with their different approach regarding the performance of their sales consultant was more than appreciable. The member of my team and the board of the company has gave me the chance to prove my worth when I was only 20 years old and I will always be grateful for that. Everybody was very easy to talk with, it goes from the Senior Sales Consultants, to the Managing Director without forgetting the HR service. You just need to take your bal** to go and talk to them when you’ve got something to say. When I had issues regarding my personal life I went to Matt, the Head of HR. He helped me a lot to deal with this difficult time and I knew, back then, that I had his full support as well as the one of David and my manager. Montreal is and will stay the best period I had during my time in London so far and if I’m doing well today in my career it’s because they had the silly decision to trust a 20 years old guy. I can only be grateful for that.

Cons

- Too many french people in the London office - Casual dress code (not a fan, I rather have suits) - Sales culture can be improve - Covid crisis management A lot of my colleagues and/or friends suffered during the Covid crisis. Even if I wasn’t part of the company anymore, I was following the situation really closely and I’m sorry for what happened to some of my friends. From what I know, certain decisions could have been better and the communication could have been improve. Difficult choices had to be done and I can understand completely that some people are upset and/or disappointed. Unfortunately, even knowing what happened to some of my friends during the crisis and how disappointed some people are, I just cannot forget all the magic moments that I spent in this company, with these people. I just hope that the people who will read this review will feel the same as me... (FYI : I was unemployed during the lockdown, not even in furlough. It was difficult for everybody, no need to cry and complain, just smile and move forward ;) ) Peace and love guys ! K

Pros

Met good people Interesting training Full salary and commissions came back end September after 6months cut on employees’ earnings (also a Cons)!!!

Cons

Unfortunately more bad than good... Micromanagement for many teams and kpi badly use constructively. Covid was badly managed for a company claiming that care about their people. Many organisations did a better job at it. No follow up and communication with staff throughout the all pandemic (Head of people won’t need to copy and past his reply from previous comments as he was himself inexistant) - weekly business meetings is about 10mins without life nor motivation and 'huddles' happened in June and not on a periodic basis as its claims to do to third parties or peoples that recently left. THEY DID’NT BOTHERED Already on average salaries and did huge cuts on salary and commissions during covid not caring if employees could manage. Current commissions structure not appealing. Lack of Communication with staff and obviously between management itself. Managing director,(David) and lot of managers are deceitful and can’t be thrusted. They stay blind in there mess! Demeaning behaviour and comments from some managers seems acceptable for the Directors. Peoples are overlooked. You can often lose your motivation and love for this job due to management attitude and approach. Openly commented that staff want the red carpet and are negative (can only come from a non-biller manager awaiting his bonus from his staff work not really understanding the hard work put into it and not seeing his own mistakes) Not much support or help from management and company strategy changes as you change a shirt. Advancements and promotions are arbitrary. No real or valuable career path offered. It’s in the bad time like covid that you realise the true faces although you notice a lot of fakeness in normal time too! Finally, as soon as a bad and real review appears LND Team or manager who are on the good and friendly book of the director (let’s call it favouritism) would review how good the company is which is only good on paper for the majority of the people. Only good at the start then

I usually trust our Head of People and Culture to provide responses to reviews but I felt this one might need a response from the CEO. First, I am really very sorry that you - or anyone working for MA - can reach this level of dissatisfaction and disappointment toward the company and the management. But I would like to insist on the fact that we do place people first and we make a point that employees are listened to whether it is for suggestions, constructive criticism or complaints. This year has been extremely challenging and we have made some difficult decisions, some of them you would maybe not agree with, some of them we could definitely have communicated better. As a business, we have been used to office work and face to face discussions in a culture where Directors don't have an office and are always approachable. It has been a sudden transition for our recruiters but also for business services and management. We keep learning and hopefully improving every day. I am not sure this is the place to answer all your cons but on the topic of staff communication during the pandemic, we have done monthly and some months bi-monthly updates as well as 2 huddle sessions in small groups so that we could answer questions from all. Of course, to be personally accused of not being trustworthy is hard to read and I invite you to reach out to me so I can understand and learn from your experience.

Pros

Office is really nice and well located. Training are good. Have met 3 good friends there.

Cons

Pay is really really low. You gonna spend extra time at your desk for absolutely no recognition and no reward. Very stressful and competitive so few people can pretend they're your friends and open to help you, but they gonna stab you at the very 1st occasion. Some managers treat delivery consultants like dogs....
