Pros

If you follow company policies and adhere to the training , you will be able to benefit from the opportunities to advance.

Cons

The pay in my area is inadequate and not befitting a large company that's in a leadership position in it's industry. More attention should be given to the lack of pay and benefits to key , entry-level positions. Bringing good people in to fill these rolls is a crucial step to building and maintaining a great company and work environment.

Pros

Availability of resources. On line training (learning path). Experienced staff.

Cons

Different dominions that request different logins every time to simple activities in the system. Management is not centralised in only one site. The Christmas dinner should be provided by the company as per tradition in UK, Its embarrassing a company that big do not offer any celebration for Christmas, All the above are related to Shardlow site (were I belong).

Pros

The work done by Labcorp, specifically in the bioanalytical department, was meaningful and applicable to current health care. Lots of helpful, knowledgeable people make the experience a bit better

Cons

The biggest con is training, both for unfamiliar techniques and company specific processes. Employees are shown how to do a technique once, they perform it with a trainer watching once, and then they are expected to be able to use that technique with no assistance, including troubleshooting. There is never any information given on who can help with certain types of issues. Most of the company specific processes and troubleshooting techniques are not written down anywhere, so there is no documentation to learn or refer back to. These skills are just transferred from person to person as they become relevant. The organization in the labs is very poor. Sample are tracked closely, but anything else requires the employee to physically go into lab and look in any number of most likely places. It wastes time and effort and leads to redoing some work if materials cannot be found.

Pros

Being a large company there are lots of opportunities to learn new skills and gain new experience. Training is generally good and further education is encouraged.

Cons

Moral was getting progressively worse and the leadership seemed either unaware or unable to do anything about it. There was also obvious regional favouritism. If you were based outside of the United States or Asia you’re unlikely to reach a senior leadership position.

Pros

The day to day interactions with coworkers is very positive. I really really liked the people I worked with directly regardless of shift or position. The facility is clean and mostly organized.

Cons

HR has extremely poor communication with the staff outside of the HR department with the exception of upper management. Training is very disorganized.
