Pros

Not afraid to promote junior people who work hard. Pay is good (in London at least) compared to similar jobs elsewhere. Some really passionate and smart staff. Publishing is an interesting industry and open access is a worthy mission. Interaction with subject experts is genuinely fascinating.

Cons

Focus on growth at (almost literally) any cost. This is driving lower and lower standards, and alienating staff who want to do good work. Roles are becoming increasingly siloed, and you are encouraged to do one thing very well rather than diversify your skills and think creatively. Worrying focus on geographic location as a proxy for academic rigour

- Free fruits, free coffee. - 8 hours/day, 5 weeks holiday/year. - You'll meet nice colleagues. - That's pretty much it.

Cons

- Salaries way, way below the swiss standards. - Management doesn't listen/care about your opinion. - Repetitive tasks.
