Disconnected upper management

Pros

The absolute best teams with some of the kindest people I’ve ever worked with! The jobs are fully remote which is also really convenient. The salaries and benefits are also pretty good and the work is quite dynamic and interesting, with many calls.

Cons

I promise that this was not written by a disgruntled employee who’s on the verge of being made redundant. I really do (did?) love working at this company. But bad business decision after bad business decision by upper management has really affected the mental health of all the employees. Working at Frontiers has been unstable this past year, with constant changes, increasing micromanagement, a complete lack of communication, and almost no opportunities for any kind of career progression. The staff are already overworked and feel undervalued. I can’t imagine this getting any better after a third of the workforce is laid off (as publicly announced by the company).

Dishonest Company

Business Outlook

Pros

Complete freedom in terms of remote working. A lot of training and time put into inclusivity and diversity.

Cons

Dishonest company values are very much a marketing strategy and definitely not something that is employed to any significant. Feedback is often asked for but seldom is it taken seriously and acted upon. Benefits often promised never fulfilled. Culture and values are again a marketing front and not taken seriously.

Chaotic company

Business Outlook

Pros

Decent salary and fully remote. Wonderful colleagues.

Cons

This company has been chaotic since I joined over a year ago. No clear sense of direction, and a delusional upper management who implements random changes every month rather than tackling the root causes of its failures. Workload is very unbalanced from one team to another, and benefits are inexistent (lets be honest, Headspace alone wont balance out the amount of stress generated by the company's instability). Leadership made obvious and avoidable mistakes over the past two years and has not been able to react efficiently to changes in the publishing market, leading to mass layoffs. It will take a long time for Frontiers to recover from this and rebuild trust with its employees and community.
