Pros

- Coworkers in the office are with no exception very approachable, professional and friendly. - The products under development are generally interesting and have impact for internal users and authors+reviewers+readers using frontiersin.org. - Company mission (making science open) is motivating. - Work-life balance is more than fair, and there's some room for time flexibility or occasionally work from home or from other Frontiers' sites (e.g. Lausanne, London). - Wide spectrum of technologies employed. - Comfortable office and good hardware equipment for employees.

Cons

- Limited communication and knowledge sharing between teams working on different projects - Product managers and teammates/coworkers are sitting in Lausanne, and this can be frustrating at times - No structured programs for personal development - Headcount not increasing as fast as other sites - International/larger companies can offer a more well-rounded compensation package

Pros

- no stress work environment - friendly people overall - flexible schedule (people work usually 8-17 or 9-18, with options in between) - long vacation (26 days) - free extra vacation days for week between Christmas and New Year (company closes)

Cons

- management have an idea of what they want to do but it varies quite a lot and quite often, it feels that there´s not real direction - laussane and madrid offices give the sensation to being different companies altogether (almost no interaction) - even though the business could have potential, the products that are being developed are uninteresting - lack of communication between teams - lots of work repetition between teams (doing the same thing twice)
