A paycheck and a lot of red tape

Pros

Paycheck, subpar for the industry an the area but it was a paycheck.

Cons

Subpar health insurance for a company of that size. Subpar 401K No transparency No communication with employees Management with fluffed ego Red tape all over the place. More bureaucracy than a government agency. They want you to ace at your job but with no tools. Top management is just a fraternity of friends. If you know someone there you will easy become a director or more. I was the only person reporting to my manager and it was done like that just to promote him to director. He had no managerial experience whatsoever. On my two years with the company I had only three 1:1 with him. After I was laid off due to “reorganization” the company spent millions of dollars for a “showroom” in Boston. Ridiculous!

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience here at Forcepoint. We are always looking at ways to get better and communicate. We feel our total rewards are in line with our competition for a company of our size. We are sorry that the reorganization of your department caused you to be laid off in 2019, companies need to regularly take a look at their current staff against the demands of the business, resulting in changes. The Boston Sales Center of Excellence opening and reorganization of your department could appear to some as related but was not. Your comments in regard to your manager have been noted and will be shared, we agree in that there should have been more communication between you and your manager.

Pros

Only one - met some pretty cool people. Being in the trenches really solidified the bond of friendship akin to going through boot camp together. We saw things, man.

Cons

-The product being supported is a BEAST. They pay well under market value for the size of the product you have to support, plus support for peripheral devices not branded by Forcepoint. -For tech support, there are only a couple of good managers. So hopefully you get one of them, otherwise, they won’t have your back with customers; they will ask you to go outside scope of your job constantly. -No room for growth in your position, and you will not be able to move teams because tech support is ALWAYS understaffed. Managers make no effort to foster employee growth for career development. -High turnover of -talented- employees because the company refuses to pay appropriately or provide promotions in a timely fashion. -Must sit in phone queue all day to pickup incoming calls which leaves very little time to take care of existing cases because they are rarely first call resolution. -Teams are so understaffed employees have difficulty getting PTO approved. -If you need another team to assist with a customer, you could be waiting days because all teams are understaffed (except maybe sales).
