Pros

* Hiring for values fit: if this can continue, then the org will get back on track to becoming an Employer of choice. *Seeing the CEO live the values is not only inspiring, it is creating the kind of place I want to work because then I can trust, the ecosystem is still growing from its center (not just top down or buttons up). *Openness to try something - it has only been six weeks but I have felt welcome to create new channels in Slack (started a pets channel) to connect more during this strange time. * Speed and professionalism and how human the recruiting process as. I was wished a 'good conversation' from my recruiter, not 'good luck with the interview'. Words matter! It put me at ease and was a good reminder this process was a two way street, like healthy adult relationships should be! Let's keep it that way! *My team - open, curious, welcoming, smart, and self-starters. What more could a manager ask for? *My peers - down-to-earth, helpful, open, curious and honest. *Transparency - there is work to be done here, but in the People team there is a very healthy level of transparency. *For the most part leadership reflects on where they are going, how they are getting there and course corrects (I think before it's too late). +Berlin office - looks modern and open, and just the right balance for teams and individuals to get work done, at least it will be when we can get back there!

Cons

There is quite a bit of distrust - a natural state when an org change is done with less than thoughtful roll-out process and a big gap in communication frequency, consistency). I did not experience it, but sounds like it was a typical ripple affect (lack of trust in leadership, low motivation, feeling of being expendable, not following values, etc). * Improvements to IT onboarding, ie. getting equipment (a choice or at least the right stuff, better communication), a buddy system, more connection points between newbies. *Benefits do not align with remote working so they seem silly (bus pass, snacks and coffee in the office... time to change that)

Pros

Office location and HR team.

Cons

Is the wework from the insurance world. They sell themselves as a tech company disrupting the insurance world...but they are not. They are only a normal insurance group acquiring insurance brokers portfolio and companies in Austria and Switzerland to show positive numbers. The C level is only there to reach the IPO dream to take the money and run. There is no company culture, no product vision ( they copy and paste other companies processes and ideas) and the marketing is horrible. They "rebranded" the company (means reducing the company size and teams because business model it doesn't work at all after 6 years). Without funding they cant survive.

As company and leadership team we appreciate your feedback and want to encourage you to get in active dialog with us even after your decision to leave the company. Disrupting the insurance industry comes with a dynamic changing environment, entering new markets and growing in existing markets. We are constantly evolving and growing our business (also in Austria and Switzerland) and our rebranding efforts are part of this journey. As shared we are on our path to profitability and via additional funding we are increasing our opportunities for growth. Your Wefox People Team

Toxic Leadership, Not a Tech Company

Pros

Office location, a lot of very lovely and helpful people, flexible working hours (depending on department)

Cons

wefox is an insurance sales company, not a technology company, although it likes to pretend otherwise. Tech & product exist solely to serve sales interests. There is no product vision or strategy and local sales teams are able to influence constant changes to the roadmap. Most of tech is vocally unhappy and product works like an agency servicing country teams led by sales folks. You as an employee cannot pick your own hardware, and your ability to have impact is limited because of the command-and-control leadership style of most managers. Customer experience is the last thing on anyone's mind, even though it's the first thing on any pitch deck. The leadership is pretty toxic: awful communicators that continually change strategy, constant chaos, people getting summarily fired after explicit promises there would be no layoffs, etc. Family members are sometimes hired over qualified employees, so nepotism is also an actual concern. A textbook example of a toxic work environment. The best and brightest are leaving in droves. The only thing that keeps most people staying is COVID-19 and the uncertainty of the job market. Not a place you want to go unless you're super eager to grow your resilience to toxic leaders.
