Everything that shine ain't always gonna be gold
Pros
People : Mostly nice people to work with. Many nationalities. Management: Aware of the need for a change Situation: Barcelona is great. New HQ office is more central and provide better work conditions Salary: Low or average for non Spanish, but fine for the local cost of living Overall company: Great on paper
Cons
People : Limited commitment. Few people suck, but can arm the entire team/company. More analyst than IT people. Not always as trained or experienced as they should be. So more low or medium profiles hired to compensate, but it simply doesn't work. Some people enjoy gossips too much. Management: Unable to lead the change. Short term vision. Unable to execute long term project (new accounting middle office pending for 3 years now). Situation: English is the official language, but you need to speak Spanish and ideally have some knowledge of Catalan if you want to fit in. Salary: Do not expect bonus or any relevant benefits. Bonus unpaid for 2 years now... but the only recent announcement is a NEW benefit program for managers... to be put in place NEXT Year... if ever. Overall company: Some "process" are totally unprofessional and unworthy for such a big company. Need to move from its core business (flight only) to something new, but still lacking a vision and a strategy to do so. The all thing looks like a gigantic kludge ready to fall down.
