Pros

Unlimited PTO, great medical benefits (BCBS IL), room for individual career growth

Cons

Unlimited PTO is great, but it’s hard to actually want to use it when you know what your workload is going to be after you get back. Mass layoffs that affected people seemingly based on salary alone, rather than benefit or lack thereof to the company. Meaning a lot of people who were laid off were key players. No plans for coverage of workload post layoffs so work immediately became draining and horrible for affected teams. Morale is basically non-existent. Newcomers are immediately set up for failure with very little strong middle management to coach and teach, which is necessary given the complicated nature of the company. Be prepared to work with very little support and in toxic environments. Huge cultural issues, worsened post-layoffs. Stressful. Feel constantly overworked, underpaid, and disrespected.

Pros

health/dental insurance are the best I have seen, anywhere, though it is pricey..abot 400/month for covered+1). It would be helpful if they offered an HSA (they do not).

Cons

- The company went full-monty "agile" methodology and they apply it to everything...programming, infrastructure, security, etc. It was implemented horribly, and as a tool to enslave and extract every ounce of productivity from the staff. If you enjoy having to explain and justify every possible impediment to implementing a solution, in minute detail 4 times a day, then again having to explain twice-a-day what you have done to resolve it, then this is the place for you. IN YOUR FACE project management. - The company likes to fire staff around the Christmas holidays. Every year I saw at least a dozen or so people fired in the most cruel way, just before Christmas. - The whole environment feels like I'm working for some cult. About half of the staff is composed of determined, ambitious corporate-climbers who have no idea how to manage others let alone aproject, and the remaining staff are simply trying to survive by hiding from the first half. This place sucks beyond belief.
