Pros

relaxed atmosphere great co-workers bennefits are good pay is more than average for this position overtime is available time off is available I pay nothing per month for my cellphone and get a lot of minutes and features I get $100 off the price of any cell phone then 40% off the remaining price. soon it will change and we will get free data devices You get access to things that most people have no idea about. this can be an advantage as long as you dont use it maliciously

Cons

Pros

Opportunity for advancement is great! Hiring for openings is always internally posted first, ensuring the greatest opportunity for movement. Outstanding leadership team! There is such a high focus on good leaders. Poor leaders are either managed to improve, or released to the industry. It's encouraged to move roles often, to taste a variety of TELUS jobs, even to the point of changing divisions. TELUS takes training VERY seriously, and even makes some courses mandatory each year, to ensure that the whole organization is in lock step with each other. There are many checks and balances to ensure that TELUS is profitable, and provides services that can be supported and solutioned. T

Cons

Not much of a work life balance. There are times when the level of activity is so extreme that you wonder when you will ever see any down time. At times, team sizes are held small to reduce expenses, resulting in double workloads. Some of the processes are rigid and cumbersome.

Pros

Career opportunities are endless. No one wants to work somewhere where everything works, right? You can move along in your career very quickly in the company if you focus a little bit on some extra value-added project above and beyond. Telus has an excellent review process for all employees.

Cons

The culture is too rooted in strong union legacy. Many of the people approaching retirement are loathe to change and should probably just leave. Following the strike in 2005, many felt abandoned by the company and never recovered. They are coasting to exit day. This holds the company back from embracing change.
