Pros

Very good work life balance, depending on where you work at Telus you can work permanently from home. You don't have to do a lot of work, no one cares if you do your work or not. There are no status reports

Cons

Pay is not competitive just compare the average salaries for similar job titles and you'll see how bad it is. Raises are not competitive last year the benchmark increase was %3 and most people didn't get that. Most of your coworkers are incompetent/militant union workers. You won't learn anything because career development budget is non-existent. Everything moves at a snail's pace, don't expect any action on any request for about a month.

Pros

There is a tremendous team atmosphere. Even though the company is spread out across the country, when you are in need of assistance there is always someone that is willing to step up and help you. The executive have a great vision and they have stuck with it over the past several years. They do not believe in the "management flavour of the month" and they invest in the development of highly talented individuals to ensure a supply chain of good management potential.

Cons

Under the skins of an entrepreneurial organization it is a telephone company and there are some lingering legacy systems and processes.

Pros

Overall I like my Job sometimes the politics get in the way. The benefits are good and atleast they do offer shares & some sort of bonus..even if it is small.

Cons

Being in a union environment as well as trying to get unpaid time off. The Union at TELUS is not a strong one. I think if Telus could disolve this union that employee satisfaction would increase. Being in a union allows too many people who should be there & give TELUS a bad rap..to continue to be employed when they really don't like their jobs.
