Pros
Comfortable chairs and rising/lowering desks Good pay and benefits. Nice facilities and location. Food and a small gift at Christmas time. Disturbing lack of free food the rest of the year.
Cons
-Managers will try to get you to perform better through fear. -Managers often will often play favorites and bend rules for some and not others. Or will use rules as an excuse not to do anything for you. -Employee recognition is often fruitless. Performance, tenure milestones, and achievements are usually just recognized via mass departmental email. -Too much micromanagement and over emphasis on metrics. -Awful shift scheduling system. Shift assignments do not get better with tenure. Expect to work lots of nights and weekends unless you can manage to get a doctor's note advising otherwise. -Work systems are often buggy or down -Frequently get customers who call in on the phone thinking it's okay to de-humanize and verbally abuse you (worse if you're a woman or have an accent) -The union is largely impotent
