Great for senior level and above

Pros

TELUS lives up to its promise of work-life balance, with stay at home 35 hour work weeks. Employees are screened for their personality, so everyone is generally outgoing. Benefits are great. Corporate wireless plans can very cheaply extend to personal use.

Cons

A very low glass ceiling and poor career path -- it can take 8-10 years to reach senior level, yet seniors are often hired externally rather than from within. Expect a lot of grunt work in the first couple of years, like documentation of work performed by seniors and managers. Min/max pay for non-senior positions is below market by at least 30%.

Pros

Get some experience so you can quickly move on.

Cons

Seemed like they would hire 'moles' into areas and no one knew what their titles were, then all of a sudden these people would be titled as management. Company only worried about getting more business so they have very savvy salesmen (who have credentials like being engineers but are really good friends of very high executive). They claim to have all the answers that will help solve the tricky technology around HR. Employees are not listened to and sometimes completely forgotten when it comes to implementing changes.

Pros

Great training, Good people, Good benefits

Cons

No career advancement opportunities (I left because I was basically stuck at my position) Too strict about time (being 20 seconds late was considered being late, and the consequences would be the same as being 30 minutes late or not even showing up at all). Ridiculous rules Feedback from employees are not even considered You are basically a robot
