Pros

I guess the benefits would be a pro.

Cons

company is a mess! They don't have a road map, strategy, budgets, they are under resourced in key areas and this is just to tip of the iceberg.

Pros

Great coworkers. Decent benefits at the moment (this seems to be changing). Honestly, there really isn't many pros anymore. They've taken most of them away over the last few years.

Cons

Telus likes to pretend that they care about their employees. The only thing Telus cares about is their quarterly profits. Don't be fooled by all the emails about mental health. The second your health starts to crash. They will kick you to the curb. And even if you do try to come back the moment you try to take one sick day because your illness rears its ugly head, they'll give you a warning about too many sick days. Even if they know that your illness is permanent and they say that they will work with it. The stress levels at this job are phenomenal with very little help. Management has their hands tied. The CEO and upper management are constantly trying to find ways to constrain their employees and pretty much put most of the blame on their employees. This shows with The fact that you are not allowed to do anything about abusive customers and have to sit there and listen to them scream and abuse you (No, you are not allowed to hang up on them or say anything to them about it, it is now considered "unethical" to hang up on them, but not unethical for them to yell at us and swear at us), as well as the amount of programs that they have brought in to try to track what their employees are constantly doing. If you want every single second of your day monitored and I mean your mouse movement is monitored constantly. Don't let it go idle and don't move it too much because that will be marked too. This job no matter what department they put you in is a constant juggling act between your mental health and trying to keep stats up so you can keep your job. And don't worry, no matter what department they put you in, you will be expected to learn all departments. If you go in to Telus for an interview. Look out for the red flags that are in the interview. And they are there. Everything from the words "family", to needing to be able to "adapt to an ever-changing environment" (high turn over). In other words, you'll get a new manager every 6 months. And there's a reason for that.
