Pros

-It is a job -you aren’t unemployed -you can get some experience on your resume

Cons

-pay never met market. -unclear vision, unclear goals, shifting priorities based on a short term approach vs. a long term outcome -it is not how well you do your work or meet your goals, it is who you know -managers aren’t provided much training. If you are one of a select bunch, you can go and get a Telus MBA at U of Vic. -your department and staff are at risk of being cut -large numbers of jobs offshored overseas to Telus international (creating tension/ stress to staff who fear getting their jobs cut) -level of stress is high. Diversity of thought is not encouraged.

Pros

Flexibility to work in-office, virtually or a combination of both

Cons

Company as a whole no longer values its employees the way it once did, it is all about keeping shareholders happy -Constant layoffs to reduce costs, which increases all teams workloads with no additional pay
