Pros

Crap job all around. Crap pay and even crappier commissions.

Cons

Marketing is bait and switch. Promising huge stimulus checks, money on food cards, & gas cards. None of the insurance plans offer these huge amounts promised. They claim to offer thousands when it’s anywhere from $50-$100 a month. Crap company who are preying on the poor, disabled, and elderly population.

Be careful with this company

Pros

W-2, hourly position with overtime available. Great benefit package including personal time off (PTO) and holidays. Good training to prepare you for the job. Plenty of carriers to offer to the beneficiaries. Licenses and continuing education are paid by the Assurance.

Cons

The tiering system that is used to determine how many calls and the type of call you receive. You are expected to enroll 1 out of 10 calls which is normal because in 10 calls you will have 1 or 2 who are willing to look at other plans by comparison. The marketing that is used catches prospects by surprise when they are enrolling in a food card or a stimulus check. Sometimes you get prospects looking for an iPhone. When I say the prospects are looking for a food card or stimulus check, I mean that is all them want. They are unwilling to change their Medicare plan by stating so four, five and six times at the beginning of the conversation. To receive ANY additional benefit in a beneficiaries Medicare, they have to be willing to change plans. It is that simple. If you are willing and able to work in the grey area and ambiguity is your middle name, you may do well. All calls are recorded and a few are graded on a CMS scale. All disclosures have to be read verbatim and the rest can be ad-libbed from the script. The pressure is on. If you have a bad day, your tier may go down. A couple of bad days, and your tier will go down. Hang-ups count toward your calls. Even though your tier is based on a rolling 30-day average, everything is working against you. Choose wisely.

Assurance IQ changed my life.

Pros

I have been in Medicare for a little over three years now the first two being an agent in a call center with a different company. Although I was also considered"1099 agent" there I still had to report to a office M-F, 30min lunch and request to leave early or if I needed time off. Here at Assurance IQ you're really a 1099 agent meaning you are truly your own boss and control your schedule clocking on and off as you please. On top of the freedom of working remotely, the leads are provided for you all inbound calls with a warm guided transfer rep on the other line introducing you to the customer which are 100x better then what I experienced at my old company. For newer agents looking for a company to start at or senior agents looking to make a change I highly recommend Assurance IQ. They offer multiple outlets for help and assistance from a two week training course with medicare specialist, as well as everyone gets assigned a team leader (senior agent) too goto if you ever have questions and even a live Help Desk chat with a whole team there too assist you within minutes if you need help. For the newer agents the dialer/ operating system Assurance IQ has makes it super easy to learn with a step by step plates to guide you through the sale from start to finish. Last but not least a very strong pay plan on top of bonuses and everything else I mention Assurance IQ in my opinion falls second to none.

Cons

My only con would be for me personally not knowing about Assurance IQ sooner and wasting two years with another company. Do not make the same mistake I did.
