Pros

If you see any positive reviews about this horrific company, someone probably paid them. They used to fly new hires to Barcelona for onboarding week but due to TravelPerk’s financial struggles, this has been eliminated. To be frank, the first week will probably be your best week. Once you start mingling and meeting the rest of the staff/ high school gossipers, everything will start to unravel and you’ll wish you never accepted the offer.

Cons

From the actual product itself to the inexperienced leadership team, I’m not sure how in the world TravelPerk reached unicorn status. Not only are their customers extremely unhappy but so are their people. LOL to HR’s responses about feedback - they clearly don’t know the definition of this buzzword. I’ve spoken to multiple TKers not only in the US but also in the European offices who have expressed major concerns around unfair compensation/ raises, non existent commission structures, favoritism, returning to office, and even employee s. harassment but none were addressed publicly or even privately. Please stop saying previous TKers should have talked to their HRBP or raised these issues in the engagement survey because the truth is they did and upper management didn’t even bat an eye. Google: 'Mini-revolt' as TravelPerk U-turns on remote work “So far, the leadership team has received 100 requests (roughly 8% of 1,200 employees) for exceptions; of those requests, 75% have been approved, the spokesperson says. The company did not say what would happen if an employee refuses to return.” The proof is in the pudding ya’ll! Clearly they told the other 25% to kick rocks. Since this processless 8 year old company still functions like a 50 person startup, how TravelPerk handled this situation is exactly how they handle everything else: on a case by case basis. Unless you’re a yes man or have close connections to their ignorant and preposterous leadership team, YOUR VOICE WON’T MATTER HERE. I know it's rough out there on the job market streets but whatever you do, keep scrolling if you see a TravelPerk job post!

Pros

Remote work, opportunity to travel to Spain

Cons

Where do I start? There is no accountability for this European Company with their U.S. employees. They literally have no idea about proper processes to employee success. There is no one to speak to about these improprieties as the entire leadership team is in Spain. There is also a constant feeling of imbalance because there the goal posts are constantly being adjusted in favor of the Company. Remember those teeny little things that start in a relationship, that you put aside as cute little quirks? These are giant red flags that are trying to save you the time with working for this company. Here is another tidbit, they have no human resources department in the United States. You heard that correctly. Zero. There is no room for advancement, and no path to promotion. Do not be lulled by the cute human interest stories on LinkedIn, with the pictures touting teamwork and togetherness. They shuttered an entre division overnight with no warning. The stories about the corporate culture is simply cultivated for investors. There is extremely limited inclusivity/diversity, which is another glaring issue. The leadership team has one person of color. Somehow the C-Suite people don't think it matters. It does. This is not a start-up that you need to include on your resume.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We take reviews seriously as they help us identify areas for improvement. We're sorry to hear about your experience. We are committed to fostering a workplace that values the input and growth of each team member, regardless of their location. We regret if you felt there was a lack of support, communication, or accountability. Regarding your mention of the absence of an HR department in the US, we would like to clarify that we have an HR representative based in the US. We continuously evaluate our organisational structure to ensure our employees have the necessary resources and support. Earlier this year, we added a US-based People Partner to offer more localised support. We take your comments about room for advancement and the feeling of imbalance to heart. We strive to promote an environment where employees feel they have growth opportunities and are treated fairly. While we had around 43% of our managers promoted internally, and internal opportunities offered and accepted have grown quarter over quarter for the past several years, it’s clear you felt we missed the mark. In terms of diversity and inclusion, we are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that embraces diversity. Your observations highlight where you believe we can improve, and we appreciate your openness in sharing this perspective. We are actively working on initiatives to enhance inclusivity across all levels of our organisation. Finally, clear communication and transparency are values we aim to uphold, and we take steps to ensure that these incidents are minimised. Thank you again for sharing your insights.
