Not Great Place

Pros

Ample parking, good commute, good work life balance and decent pay for rural Worcester county. Some autonomy if in the right group or team. Some teams have a fairly decent initial training program.

Cons

Poor technology, lack of communication, no recognition system and very few advancement opportunities above supervisor level. Some teams have zero training and the organization as a whole is very resistant to change. It seems many teams are too busy or disengaged and the care factor seems low in many areas.

Thank you for your review. Since you've worked at MAPFRE Insurance for several years and enjoy some nice perks of good pay, good commute, etc. - we hope that means you're willing to participate in the change you believe needs to happen. Change and growth are part of the company culture at the organizational as well as individual level, but it sounds like you haven't experienced that first-hand. Please take the opportunity to speak to your manager about any changes you'd like to see in your unit or in your work. Also, be sure to check for other open opportunities within the company.

Pros

I like my coworkers and supervisor

Cons

Low pay Overworked and company will not hire more help even after constant complaints from agents but I guess upper management isn't the one being called and yelled at so what do they care. Gilbert office is always forgotten about. Mapfre focuses on Webster and could care less that more and more people are quitting. Company does not make you feel appreciated and could care less how loyal and a good of a worker you have been. They work you until your breaking point and than refuse to give you answers on why they are not willing to get more help. Constant talk about how they hope to change things after horrible "Great place to Work" survey results from employees and yet it's getting worse.

Better direction needed

Pros

Building is filled with smart, dedicated people that know the market, know the operation, and want to be invested in the future of the company.

Cons

Upper management is too worried about what Madrid wants and not enough about what the US division needs. This is impacting front lines staff and middle management as it isn't clear which direction the company is going. For instance: Spain pushes for growth and we respond by offering unprofitable products in unprofitable states on an unmanageable platform. But, it's growth. Meanwhile the core of the business in Massachusetts is decaying. This cannot go on indefinitely.
