Pros

Very strong talent in strategy, generally nice people.

Cons

No real rewards for excellent performance. IB promotes people after they've been doing the job for 1+ year, so promotion time can be more resentful than satisfying.

Pros

- great if you are relatively junior and want to learn about brands and businesses, a resume builder - lots of free food - smart, fun co-workers

Cons

- short-term focus on dollars, not client satisfaction or investment - leaders trip over themselves behind closed doors, very political - promotions if you're loud and self-promoting and if the CEO likes you, not if you have worked hard and earned it - CEO doesn't really run the company, Finance does
