False advertising

Pros

Good salary and what seems like good career opportunities. This job is great for someone who doesn’t drive or have a family.

Cons

Job was advertised as 2 days in office 3 at home and flexible working conditions are apparently offered. First day in office I’m told it’s now 5 days in office. No car park available.I was told a straight NO when asked about taking a 30 minute lunch break and leaving at 5pm instead of 5.30pm. No empathy or understanding regarding their false advertising, just apologies which unfortunately don’t cover my child care issues. Ironically an organisation who help people back into work who are now pretty much leaving me high and dry!

Pros

Fairly good pay, nice enough offices in central locations.

Cons

Performance management process is entirely target based with no consideration of anything other than job starts. Previously high performing staff cast aside and into a process that ultimately results in dismissal if they end up with a particularly challenging caseload. Many clients are facing barriers to work that aren't related to employability skills, medical, psychological and drug issues staff are unequipped to deal with. One of the third sector partners we referred clients to actually ditched Ingeus when I worked there as they recognised as an organisation it was impossible to provide clients with the sort of help they actually need by rewriting CVs

Thanks for taking the time to write a review about your time at Ingeus; I’m sorry to read your concerns. Our customers (who are usually from government or business) set us targets to ensure we achieve great results for the people on our programmes. We pride ourselves on delivering against these because for us, great results mean that more people’s lives have been positively impacted by our services. At Ingeus we believe that every member of the team plays an important part in this and so, in certain roles there are achievable targets. We reflect this with extensive training and support and with our competitive pay and rewards package. Feedback from colleagues - past and present - is really important to us. It would be great to get more information about some of your specific concerns. Please do feel free to contact me directly to discuss this. Kind regards, Barry Fletcher

Don't ignore the negative reviews

Pros

Some great, hardworking staff who care about the clients and their colleagues. Despite no pay rise they still pay well for the industry.

Cons

Poor communication across all tiers of management. Staff are treated as numbers not people. Recent round of redundancies has shown the organisations true colours, advisors have been selected for redundancy on a very unfair, performance based process that has substantial inconsistencies, Advisors have been compared against each other who work in completely different roles, performance data used for some advisors dates back to 2014/15 and is compared against data used for advisors from the second half of 2016. There has been no accounting for differences in caseloads, changes of caseloads, sizes of caseloads, different roles. It has in the main been completely unfair. HR and senior management have supposedly 'listened' to people's concerns around this process but have been unwilling to change most things. An interview process would have been a much fairer method of selection and if Ingeus was forward thinking and looking for the right staff to deliver the next contract which is primarily ESA clients then this is what they would have done, instead they will be left with a high proportion of advisors who have little experience of working with the client group and actually dont want to and staff who have poor sickness and conduct records but because they have performed well in the 6 months being used for the selection process they will keep their jobs! Come on Ingeus does good work ethic, experience, reliability, not count for anything..... clearly not! The feeling amongst most staff is one of distrust and they have little faith in the company to do the right thing which ironically is one of the Companies values.
