DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!

Pros

Good starting salary, invaluable experience.

Cons

Ingeus is by far the most corrupt and incompetent company I have ever had the misfortune of working for. The employment advisors are overworked, with no career progression and no improvement in salary. You are pushed beyond your limits and the only thing that matters to senior managment is "targets". Ingeus was not founded to be a profit making machine, it was founded to help people get back on their feet and back into employment. There has been almost 100% turnover of staff in its first year in Northern Ireland. The managers pass your probation, then bully you into meeting targets, and performance manage many of their staff out the door, myself included. The majority of the clients have never worked, and have no desire to work as they are satisfied letting the taxes of the working public pay for them to sit at home. The company have also promised their new staff a lot, but delivered little. This job is not about the "clients", it's about making money and hitting targets. If you can manage a high level of stress, no career progression and the misery of an awful office environment then by all means work here. If like myself you want a job where you can make a difference and are treated like a human being as opposed to a machine then look elsewhere.

Pros

Pays well for a job which doesn't require any formal qualifications or training, however, other companies are now closing in on this with 3 years of pay freezes. Not expected to work outside your contracted working areas.

Cons

Where do you start? Ingeus was a great company which genuinely seemed to live its values, but it's all gone horribly wrong. Since the new CEO, COO have been installed Ingeus has gone rapidly down hill. Over the last 12 months I would estimate that 30% of the staff have resigned and the company has fallen out of the Times Top 100, it had previously been in the Times Top 100 for 5 years. The business is now run on information, which means you are highly micro-managed, micro-managed on various reports and numbers. Management are completely out of touch with it's staff, what their jobs entail and they lack any trust of their staff. The business is out of control. Reality is, the management team has been promoted through friendships not through skills or ability and it's lead to a collapse in trust throughout the business. And the management team don't have the skills or ability to fix the problems. The problems are so deeply embedded and engrained that the culture has changed.... many staff spend their week looking for alternative jobs or helping their colleagues fill out application forms. There are ZERO opportunities for promotion, you can be here for 4 or 5 years before a job even comes up.
