Bad EMEA Management at Pentaho

- Hitachi is a solid company and in the storage part people worked there for years - Salary is ok - Good colleagues - The upper management is clever and focused

Cons

- Pentaho part is nearly dead - The EMEA Central guy of Pentaho has now clue what he is doing. People left because of him - Totally unstructured as lot of people left the company and the Hitachi people are lost with the wrong strategy - Absolutely no support. Before I left the hired a new guy and he just wants to leave after a couple of month - because of his manager... - Former colleagues told me that every week important people leave the company

Two Years ago, this was the best company to work for. Other than lack of raises there were few complaints!

Cons

Everything! Company is trying to re-invent itself... Uses lots of Big Words, management pats itself on the back too busy congratulating themselves to realize their on the Titanic. Treat you like your lucky to still be here after all the layoffs!

Relaxed environment with room for learning, but watch out for politics

No pressure or competition, at least on the lower-level Lots of freedom to choose your technology, plenty of opportunities to grow and learn new things Friendly, helpful people

Cons

Politics on the upper-level can makes things rocky. Expect projects and teams to be moved around or shut down with little or vague explanations. This will vary with the leadership, but Hitachi Vantara cycles through those pretty fast, so don't expect smooth sailing if your manager suddenly have to "step down". On the bright side, their severance package is quite generous.
