Pros

Pretty good benefits, reasonable work/life balance.

Cons

I've been with the company 2 years and my experience hasn't been great. There's a desire to move people often between functions and/or products which has a negative impact overall.

Pros

- Brand new HQ office coming next year that is nicer - Decent work-life balance

Cons

- Things were good (there were some issues sure) until Brad Surak was hired as CPSO and then everything went bad. - There was a long period of time when most teams had no idea what to do and were waiting for direction from management which came too late and was inadequate - Brad bought loads of people from GE Digital who have destroyed the strong culture there was. They just want to do things the way they did at GE Digital. - The IoT strategy they have has had 0 traction in the market, done by the same consultants who helped with GE digital strategy - Compensation is much below market rates and don't ever expect a hike

Pros

Great working-level teams who demonstrate grit and always try to find ways to be successful despite the mess around (or rather above) them. There are pockets of high-quality talent in various places, although this is not uniform. Good reputation in certain parts of the world, mainly tied to the positive reputation of the global Hitachi mothership brand. Flexibility in work arrangements is a strong plus.

Cons

Absolutely terrible leadership from the top, that is going to drive this company to the ground - a rapid downward spiral that picked up pace about mid-2019. The CFO is probably the most incompetent CFO in Silicon Valley or for a company of this size, and unfortunately her ambitions and agenda are having a out-sized impact on the company. The only lever she understands is slash-and-burn cost-cutting, though she clearly has no understanding of the business. As a result this company is being shredded to bits. No one deserves blame for this company's downfall as much as her, though you can also blame the CEOs that have enabled her. Leadership turnover has been high. It has been a revolving door since early 2019, and we're now on our 3rd CEO in the matter of just months. The new CEO is unlikely to be successful as long as he relies on the advice of the CFO. The culture, which used to be positive, has rapidly deteriorated as a result of all of the change the organization has been through in the last 2 years. There is a complete lack of trust among teams, no confidence in the leadership and strategy, and good people are fleeing in droves. Those that are left are barely hanging on. No high quality talent is interested in joining this company that is so clearly headed downward, so the decline is only picking up speed.
