Pros

The globally recognized name of HSBC

Cons

The worst place to work. Favoritism and gossip in managers. Very weak management style: Dept run as mom and pap shop. No career advancement unless you are a pet to the boss. Retaliation on your bonus if you have a dissenting opinion. Management is hard to change. New ideas not appreciated and escalation is worthless. Put up or shut up is the culture. Lack of diversity in senior management positions

Pros

No Pros at all.

Cons

- They have hire and fire policy. - I never heard about job reductions in HSBC before I joined. But now I came to know that almost every alternate year they fire employs in big numbers. - When they fire employees they don't consider their performance or their salaries. Usually its a mass layoff. - Our whole team was newly formed and everyone was new joiner and in 2 months they laid off whole team. So their was clearly lack of planning. - They also fired 2-3 members from each team in Pune and Hyderabad location.
