Get your 1-3 years experience, then get out

Pros

If you want to learn how to build up resilience, learn how to deal with difficult people and horrible senior management, learn how to figure out problems on your own through lack of skill training and mentorship, this is a good place to get that start. Working here also looks good on your CV and is a good way to get your 1-3 years of experience before moving on to a real company.

Cons

The cons far outweigh the benefits. Salaries are very low by Swiss standards, job roles are ill defined with people being lent out to different teams and working multiple positions to save on money and training, people are not invested in or appreciated so there has been an upsurge of people leaving recently, which requires retraining and wastes resources, people are taken advantage of with no proper recognition of their hard work or excellent qualifications, people are made to feel like they should be "lucky" to have the job they are in, there are very limited opportunities for career development and the work is monotonous and uninteresting.

Thank you for your feedback - we’re pleased you appreciated the chance to work fully remotely. As a fast-paced organization in a dynamic industry, evolving goals and team structures are sometimes necessary to stay aligned with our mission and growth.

Pros

- Fantastic department and colleagues - Remote working (although I hear this is now being phased out) - Reasonable salary (at the time)

Cons

- Upper management shifted goalposts constantly and churned out buzzwords in meetings without anything solid to back them up. - Linked to above, we'd change structure and plans every year or so but it would be up to lower-level teams to figure out how to make this work. Planning is not their strong suit. - While I listed salary as a pro, this is likely no longer the case as there have been restrictions to bonuses and pay has not kept up with inflation rates - Few opportunities to move up within the company. I lost count of the number of people who left for new roles because they got fed up jumping through hoops.
