Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It's great to hear that you've experienced a strong team culture. Handling redundancies is never easy, particularly with different legal requirements in each country and we communicated as regularly and transparently as we we could.

Thank you for your feedback - great to hear you appreciate our work-from-home policy. As to the job security concerns, we fully understand that the start of this year has been difficult. Layoffs are always a last resort to ensure stability for the future and we have done a lot of communication around our goals for this year to get us back on track. Please get in touch with your People Business Partner if you'd like to discuss this further.

Pros

Pay is fair, line management is polite, and the company mission and vision are a net positive to humanity.

Cons

2023 may have been a period where the company struggled with an identity crisis, hiring upper management from Amazon and other companies with horrible track records in people management. 2024 post-downsizing restructuring may present an opportunity for positive changes. Not happy, but hopeful still.

Thank you for your review. It's great to hear you enjoy working towards our important mission. 2023 was a period of change for the whole academic publishing industry, including Frontiers. It's always a very difficult decision to make redundancies but it is the responsible course of action. If you'd like to continue the conversation, please contact your People Business Partner.
