Pros
- Easy to get job without relevant experience. - Good (lower/middle) management. - Good pension & healthcare. - Entirely remote. - You will be surrounded by a wide range of people, intelligent, experienced, skilled. - You will develop sales skills.
Cons
- Your PhD (if you have one) is merely a badge of reputation that they ask you to slap on the end of your emails to make up for their dreadful repuation in academia. - Endless monotony punctuated by mindless changes in strategy. - You will have to deal with a lot of corporate nonsense, zealous flag-waving is poured upon you from the executives and higher management. - You have to adhere to the discriminatory and poorly justified editorial board recruitment policies dictated to you by upper management.
