Pros

Great stock plan and good product. GRAIL could be a game changer if DT had a partner community. Fantastic healthcare and benefits .

Cons

Channel partners are non existent. This alone fuels more success at Data Dog. Our team lost every POC that we competed in during my time at DT. Data Dog crushed us every time. The SE team is very insulated and protected from bad press by design, they lack accountability because it’s just easier to blame the sales rep and move on. I had 4 managers in 3.5 years the last one being the least desirable and most confrontational. Every simple task like approvals or quoting is an absolute nightmare piled on top of the SE accountability issues. It was really bad a year ago,, I am sure it’s worse now. Not week goes by and I notice another tenured rep leave DT that had made quota in the past.

Thanks for sharing your experience. We appreciate your contributions over the years and the thoughtful feedback you've provided. It’s great to hear that you found value in our product and benefits, though we also recognize the concerns you’ve raised about leadership and challenges within the sales department. These are important areas, and your perspective helps us better understand where we need to improve. We understand how frustrating it can be when cross-functional collaboration doesn’t meet expectations, and when internal processes create unnecessary friction. Your comments about team dynamics and competitive positioning are being taken seriously and will be shared with our sales and enablement teams for further reflection. Thanks again for your honesty and for being part of Dynatrace. We wish you the best in the next chapter of your career journey.

Pros

Dynatrace used to be the most amazing place to work. The culture, the people, the leadership...amazing.

Cons

Then, Steve Pace, CRO, resigned last year. Since then, the new CRO, Dan Zeigler, has come in from VMWare and has systematically fired everyone below him, replaced with VMWare cronies. Those replacements, fired everyone below them and replaced with VMWare buddies. This has gone on all up and down the entire US org. It has turned into a full out good ole buddies club of the VMWare guys and the legacy Dynatracers. The animosity that the new VMWare people have for the originals is so obvious (like sales leaders STILL wearing VMWare shirts on team calls) that HR has noted they have issues with this monstrous cultural shift. It has been a systematic cleansing of the pre-VMWare regime Dynatracers - just look at the turnover in the last 3 months of the US team

Pros

The recruiters and R & D teams are genuinely nice people.

Cons

Management and Higher Ups could care less about you. I was offered a position, agreed to terms and signed. Agreed to start a month later due to prior engagements, only for offer to be rescinded 2 days before my start date for vague reasons regarding budget cuts (which were discussed in interviews, as they said they are in a growth period and just received new funding). This was all after I underwent extremely lengthy onboarding process, background check, started relocation process without being reimbursed, introduced myself to entire team, only for it all to be taken away 2 days before I started. Don't believe the hype, they don't care about you. You'll be viewed as just another cog in a machine, rather than a valued employee.

We regret this situation. It is not reflective of the culture at Dynatrace, which remains a growth environment. We take our hiring process very seriously. When mistakes happen, we work to remediate them. If you have not done so already, please contact your recruiter with any questions about the hiring process.
