The liberal values of the top management are forced down through the ranks. If you have more conservative values, you may find your self at odds with company policy. Diversity for the sake of diversity sometimes seems to be a higher priority than product quality, cost and performance.

Too many lay-offs: In the last 5 years there have been 2 major corporate wide reductions in force. However, in varying departments of the company there have been major restructuring which has led to people leaving. It has become a major expectation that by Q3 and Q4, the company will announce some sort of restructuring. Individual development and performance based results work well at entry level to mid-level management. At senior managers and directors, it really becomes about who you know. Very political.
