Stagnant at the top, groupthink, cognitive dissonance, dismal career planning, culture changed from open, fun, and buccaneering to closed, toxic, and uninclusive.

The company has a very diverse culture. Everyone is friendly and approachable right up to senior management, it's a culture of 'we care about our people' there is always possibilities for progression,I have been with Control Risks for more than 10 years.

Interesting and diverse projects and people. The firm is, for the most part, very engaged with clients and there is a legitimate passion for solving client problems.
Cons
Focus of the firm has moved swiftly toward a sales culture over quality of product. Even the most junior resources are expected to spend more time on sales. This means more expert time spent generating more need for services thus reducing capacity to deliver on those services, which make zero sense. And there is no indication they intend to hire more people to cope with this. The message from management has been to increase revenue and be more efficient while doing it. This increased burden is expected to be delivered by staff for no extra reward, because the money goes to the Partners who came up with this strategy. It has really widened the gap between regular staff and Partners. The admin processes are the definition of insanity. The firm tries to correct them by adding more admin processes.

Pros
People working for Control Risks are incredibly talented. The type of work we do is extremely interesting. I have managed projects in more than ten countries that have ranged from on-the-ground projects for NGOs, advising National Intelligence Agencies, training multinational companies in crisis management and investigating massive fraud cases. People are very friendly and open-minded.
Cons
Admin processes could be improved. Especially for registering expenses.
