Cons
I applied for the position of Senior Problem Manager, having seen a Problem Specialist role advertised via LinkedIn earlier (which was not suitable for my level of experience and career progression). The role profile of Senior Problem Manager included responsibilities such as coaching and mentoring Problem Specialists. I was successful at interview and was offered the job and salary agreed. The contract however had the job as Problem Specialist and wanted me to waive my rights to work in excess of a 48 hour week. Whilst I would happily work additional hours to meet a deadline as any professional role requires I do not see that I should waive my legal right. I challenged the contract and eventually (after significant delay) the job title was changed, but the Talent Manager advised I will still be a Problem Specialist internally as that was the role. I felt misled and unhappy with this experience. The job advertisement was misleading and this was not a positive experience as I turned down another opportunity. The benefits were also misleading. The share scheme is not currently available and any additional benefits such as medical insurance are not standard and have to be purchased through the staff portal. Other organisations I have worked for it is standard and company funded benefit in kind.
