Pros

There is no pros at all.

Cons

If you are joining the india management unit, avoid Product function at all costs. You will be mostly reporting to UK leads and you will start feeling like you are working in East India Company, a slave to be precise. The headquarters only see you as a paid slave who can be optimised to get the best out of you. You most likely will not be included in any strategy calls or leadership interactions. The roadmap will be decided in UK itself and PMs in India are hired only to run those in India as dev team sits in india. So you are only a yes master being in India. You white/gora leads treat you like a resource from third world developing country and you will feel that on a daily basis. Racism will be at its peak here. You raise any issues to your white/gora leads and they won't be addressed as you're from a underdeveloped/third world and you are not allowed to complain. Even desi on-site would have earned the privilege to act rude or mistreat you as a corporate slave You are not allowed to apply for internal postings, in case you are joining with an assumption that you can move to UK. A new clause has been introduced that you should be legally eligible before you apply for on-site roles. You will work with white/gora designers, content editors, analytics so usually they will not work on your ideas/ support you because goras do not like taking inputs/work actions items from third world resources. You cannot escalate on any of them. Indian team is asked by white/gora HQ to be given the lowest rating for first 6 months though you will have achieved all the goals. You will most likely be ruining your career path is you are joining management roles. There are no career growth opportunities here. You will be appalled by the knowledge level of Gora/HQ Their share price reflects that. You are better off joining any Indian setup at lower salary. You will feel respected and valued. AVOID AT ALL COST

Pros

The hardworking people on the ground!

Cons

Military style leadership which has been described as bullying, condescending, misogynistic and extremely poor management of people. Contradictory Information and actions from so called 'leaders' Pay is so low compared to competitors. If you get a promotion, prepare to never get a pay rise with it. Everything is so difficult/complicated to get done, even the simplest tasks. Sack people based on locations that don't align with strategic locations, then hire someone to manage from Scotland (funnily enough not a strategic location, and pay for Thier travel to Newcastle (again not a strategic location) while making it clear during redundancy talks that this was not an option to be considered for redeployment. Management. Treatment of staff Management play favourites and keep Thier mates in leadership roles even though their 'your say' scores are consistently shockingly low and negative (no action taken to address these issues) All work moving offshore as it's cheaper. No career advancement. People (the most talented ones from the company) are leaving in droves!

Where Digital designers come to fester

Pros

Some gems of people. A few design leaders know what they're doing (a few). Genuine opportunity to craft great products (we know BT customers need it). But...

Cons

Utter chaos/no direction. Work politics reigns. Directors - clueless/out of depth. Legacy tech (and lack of innovation). Blame, bully and abuse culture is rife; toxic people seem to thrive. Egos from middle managers and above, cliquey. Digital design will soon be an offshore team.
