Pros

Room for growth. Good commission plan for recruiters. Strong name recognition in the staffing industry. $25-30B company.

Cons

Opportunities change from branch to branch. Some are run by top people with great resources; others, not so much. Corporate HQ in Melville, NY.

Pros

Adecco is a market leader and a global corporation. As such we have excellent bargaining power and tend to get top clients. When the market is unstable (such as now) we tend to still do quite well. Other employees in Boutique Agencies might get paid more but their future is more unstable. Progression opportunities are also excellent. The Adecco group is made up of several large "Sister" companies - if there are no opportunities in your area, you can easily transfer your skills to another company within the group. The Christmas parties are also brilliant!!

Cons

As with lots of larger companies communication from Senior Management to Middle management is very poor. Our working hours were decreased recently (which is great!) but we were all told via an email to the whole company - My boss would have liked to have been told before, so that he could plan our business better and prepare us for the news. Middle managers are often people that have proved themselves to be good sales people but this doesn't mean that they are good managers. They are often rewarded for doing a good sales job by being promoted and being given their own team, without proving first that they know how to manage the team.

Pros

The only reson to work at Adecco is experience on your resume if you are thinking of a career in HR. Adecco is merely a stepping stone that is about the only thing good about this company if you can hang in there for long

Cons

You don't feel appreciated by upper management, promotions aren't given by seniority or experience and knowledge internally but if you are a job seeker externally with Adecco and know the Regional Vice President or someone in upper management you will be sure to get the job over a colleague that has great experience and always has great performance reviews and is fully capable of doing the job extremely well
