I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Phoenix, AZ) in Jan 2009
Interview
Very structured interview process - interviewer is given a booklet with questions to ask and takes notes about your answers in the space provided. Most of the interview questions start with "Tell me about a time when you..." showed leadership, had to deal with a difficult situation, couldn't finish a task on time, etc.

Question 1
Once the interviewer had asked me all the required questions from the booklet, he asked me a more broad question: "What accomplishment are you most proud of?" It took me by surprise, but I liked that he asked that because it showed me he wanted to get to know me not only as a professional but also as a person.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target
Interview
Five interviews as stated by everyone else in these posts. Long process but hopefully it will be worth it. Everyone that has interviewed me so far has been really nice and easy to talk to. Every time I have had an meeting I always have left feeling good about the interviewers and the company in general. I know its a tedious process but at least I know they take their employees seriously. Read all of the posts and come up with related previous experiences for all of the interview questions listed, It helps out a lot!

Question 1
Again, its all based on the "Tell me about a time when........." questions. Some of the ones I was given have been:
-Tell me about a time when you have messed up
-Tell me about a time when you had to train a superior
-Tell me about a time when you disagreed with a boss
-Tell me about a time when you helped out a fellow co worker
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Philadelphia, PA) in Mar 2012
Interview
Very unpleasant experience. I attended career fair at our local university, and gave my resume to Target's representatives. A few days later I got a call from our career services inviting me for the interview. I went to Target's introduction session, and their representative was really surprised to see a person who had already graduated, while all other people selected for the interview were graduating from BS program. Target's representative told us there would be 2 people interviewing for the position, and the fact that I was interviewed by one very young person suggested the decision not to hire me had already been made beforehand. They need rookies for this position, not the professionals.
