Interview
I interviewed with a recruiter at Remofirst in September 2023. The interviewer was new, and her lack of experience in interviewing candidates was evident. Despite the fact that they were looking for a senior candidate, they kept referring to the role as PM. They had no idea how to structure the interview and tried to ambush me with questions like "What don't you like to do?" and "What's your weakest skill?" After the interview, they promised to get back with feedback by mid-next week but didn't until I started chasing them. I knew they were stalling. After a series of emails, they replied with a generic "The team decided to pursue other candidates" and did not provide a reason for their decision.
Overall, I'd recommend staying away from the company because the product reports to the Chief of Staff (for some reason), which means they have no product leadership, long-term vision, and growth trajectories for product managers.

Interview
Hands down the worst interview experience I've had with a company. Many red flags. It was a very similar experience to the previous post, presumably for the same role. The first round went well with a good discussion with the product owner. Rounds two and three (with the Chief of Staff and CEO respectively) were abysmal. They were distracted, giving no engagement or back and forth whatsoever, and furiously typing whilst merely reading off a checklist of generic questions you'd expect from a school level interview prep class. They made no effort to find anything out about me or what I could offer beyond those stock questions and generally gave off a very couldnt-care-less attitude. Some absolute stunners included the classic "3 things your friends/family come to you for", with the inspired follow up of "3 things they avoid going to you for". This whole process culminated, unsurprisingly, in being ghosted. Overall any hiring process involving this little respect can tell you a lot about the real values of the company/people.

Question 1
3 things your friends/family come to you for. 3 things they avoid coming to you for.

Interview
I had the first round interview scheduled by the "Chief of Staff". The interview began without any rapport building and dug into questions from the get go. After the questions, when given the opportunity to ask about the budget for the role, the interviewer noted an absolutely derisory target salary and I couldn't but call out that range is unethical. It didn't seem to surprise. The culture seems to be to do everything, but without any resource.
