The process started out with a recruitment agency, where the lovely Mollie first gave me a call to screen for logistics/right to work etc. before scheduling a Skype interview. The Skype interview lasted around an hour, with questions about why the role/company appealed to me and more situational examples. The next step was two online tests for numerical and verbal reasoning. Prior to setting the tests, I was advised as to how best to prepare which enabled me to pass the tests successfully. On passing the tests I was invited to a 'discovery day' with Octopus Energy's own recruitment team. This took place over Zoom and involved a few group tasks with other candidates as well as an individual interview. Again, I was advised on what preparation work I needed to do beforehand which was of great help. Octopus maintain their inclusivity by beginning with a recruitment agency, as this allows candidates to make it through to the discovery day without having been judged by Octopus themselves. The final stage of the process was a 30 minute one-to-one call, during which I was offered and accepted a job.
