You gain some experience and colleagues are generally nice.

Pros

I honestly can’t think of anything that is an actual pro working here

Cons

Long hours: They expect you to stay longer than the hours stated in the contract, otherwise you’re not a “team player”. Toxic environment: Management has said on more than one occasion to “buy low and sell high” in reference to the highly sensitive, highly technical translations we produce. It creates bad faith between the company and the vendors, with vendors frequently complaining about our terrible pay. It very much feels like a churn and burn environment, and if you don’t keep up, you’ll be put on performance improvement plan and then fired. Salaries: People in the office frequently talk about how long they’ve been working there while never having received a salary increase. The bonuses for PCs are a miserly sum; staying in the office an extra ≈10 hours a week for a meager 200 euros more every quarter is absolutely not worth it. They can afford to rent the whole Generali building but not raise our salaries or create a more attractive bonus structure? Maybe they should invest that money in their existing employees than spending it unneeded office space. No real perks: Sure they throw boring parties every once in a while, but looking at how much they pay us and then how much they spend on these “team building events”, it’s quite frankly insulting. Remote working is also discouraged. They seem to do this to justify their increasing office space costs as there is no real face to face collaboration in the office; all meeting are done through teams while we sit at our desks, next to each other. High turnover: This is pretty self explanatory; create a toxic environment and people leave or crumble under the stress.
