      A great place to milk and look for something better.

      Pros

      The IT salaries aren't bad and they do offer flexible working arrangements if you don't let them beat the crap out of you.

      Cons

      Totally inept senior management. There is ZERO incentive to work hard as your yearly review is graded on a curve and has little to do with your actual performance over the past year. Your direct manager often has no idea what you might actually be doing. They can and will work you to death if you let them. Just don't do it. Outsourcing has been a huge problem as well. Entire floors of certain buildings resemble, and smell, like third-world countries. Don't ever think they give .02 about you.

      Pros

      If BC/BS won't hire you, CIGNA probably will. The system is set up in such a way that the put you through a meat-grinder for a few years to see if they can mold you or if you're going to present a challenge to the upper levels of management. If you present a challenge, do not worry about moving up anytime soon. Be prepared to watch your former sheep-like colleagues pass you by simply because they do exactly what they are told and do not question things even if they make no sense. That is just the way the healthcare side of the business operates.

      Cons

      Pretty much everything. CIGNA likes to treat their employees like children. They constant micro-manage you at nearly every level including mid-level management.
