Good pay and good government benefits and protection

Slow as molasses and strict hiring process and very horrible instructors during training a lot goofing off and cursing language use and low morale by some TSO's with a I'm sick of this job mindset I saw during the OJT process Lots of bureaucratic bloat poor communication by MGR's many of the senior officers are quick to run and tell management or floor supervisors on you for very minor things especially if your the new kid on the block while smiling in your face but fail to follow the security operations protocol themselves while expecting you to do do while dealing with angry and in my case early morning hostile passengers from starting at3:30 am til 12:00 Noon !!! take my advice beware of of what you may be getting into not for everyone especially if you have never done security before!!!

Government benefits and vacation and sick time is accumulated.

Cons

Like any government job, it is very slow to get anything changed and also has management issues. People who need to be fired cannot without great effort.

Good pay, good co-workers, great benefits, job not difficult. Easy to move up rapidly if that's what you want to do.

Cons

Lack of respect and sometimes verbal abuse from passengers. High turnover, baggage can take a toll on the body after a while.
