Pros

You know exactly what's expected of your performance. Awesome position for someone who wants the stability of working for the Federal Government. Perfect for those not interested in furthering their education. Great for those looking for part-time work while pursuing higher education. Good pay for a part-time position. It's an amazing Federal Agency. They've done so much in a relatively short amount of time. There hasn't been another 9/11 since they were established. Your paycheck will never bounce.

Cons

Where do I start? Monotony. High stress. Advancement and full-time status takes forever. They want soldiers, not personalities. Third strike and you're out. Strikes are super easy to get. Turnover is upwards of a lot. 90% maybe? You'll be asked if you're comfortable with pat downs. Consider what a pat down entails. Probably my biggest hurdle. You like rifling through other people's personal belongings? I wasn't. Everything is super harsh. The break rooms are dark, not so much that they're dimly lit, it's that the role saps the soul from everyone that works there which makes for a very creepy 15-30 minute break room experience. I chose to wander the airport rather than sit there in that environment. BDOs are absolutely adorable! They reminded me of an attempt at an Orwellian thought police force but entirely ineffective.

Pros

There's honestly not many redeemable qualities about working for the Transportation Security Administration in the state of Montana or anywhere else for that matter.

Cons

It's a constant revolving door for uniformed employees. Management is difficult to get along with, and bully employees who have their own opinions. Never have I encountered such hostility in my entire life.

Pros

Stable paycheck, benefits, average income but not a living wage

Cons

little room for career advancement unless you are related to someone, unorganized, often threaten employees regarding using their FMLA or sick leave, nothing is standardized, they do not think that you have a life outside of work and do not work with you if there are any issues
