Pros

The pros for working for the TSA are that there is potential to learn a lot about airport operations. You get to meet and interact with a many different people from different walks of life.

Cons

The cons started to outweigh the pros in many ways!! The Manangement there is callous and have been known to be vengeful. They take things personally and take it out on the staff. You are not expected to call out or have family emergencies. Those kind of incidents are seen as a weakness. If someone has an issue with you they will not stop until they find a way to bring you down. The attrition rate is extremely high there and nothing is being done to retain the staffing. I have learned the hard way that if the attrition rate is high with any company you should probably rethink working for that company.

TSA is a Joke!

Pros

I have to think hard to think of any; I guess it would be the breaks and getting away form the rude officers; I never expected to work with. TSA is a terrible place to work; the security agents are so stupid; barely smart enough to communicate effectively and the managers/supervisors aren't much better!

Cons

Everything; horrible place to work! Don't apply, run and don't walk away as fast as you can. I was amazed at how dumb the people are; they were so rude to travelers and then laughed about it like it was some right of passage. I worked at Portland; the supervisors were so annoying; wouldn't listen, didn't care and the customer service was non existent. I couldn't take it anymore so I quit!
