Pros

Good benefits, fantastic team members

Cons

TELUS is a company that is conscious-less, brutal to it employees and only cares about shareholder value and its share price. Sitting in top are narcissistic senior leaders that leach from its employees, leading with a fear mentality (layoffs, being fired, making a mistake, missing their earnings targets etc) that forms a culture of bitterness, poor morale and hopelessness. What is most bothersome is that they tout themselves as company that is focussed on their people, and the communities they work in. They prey on employees that are searching for purpose in their jobs, bragging that they have the most volunteer hours of any company in the world. They don’t tell you that they are constantly cutting their salaries, reducing their benefits, and finding any way to reduce their employees compensation - and any excuse to layoff their longest tenured employees. How’s that - you work for 29 years at Telus as a loyal employee and are “rewarded” by an early layoff to avoid a pension, with the bare minimum buyout package. Telus is a brutal employer wish incompetent leadership who are too afraid to challenge their CEO or stand up for their people. Shame on them!

Pros

You work with cool people in your team who are like you and will help the best they can

Cons

Where do I even start! Leadership team is absolutely useless, dumbest rules, lies after lies, and doesn’t want to help in any way. They expect you to hit target or you don’t get paid. They tell you it’s hybrid but that’s a lie they literally make up the biggest and dumbest lie and force you to come in everyday. Don’t get me wrong there are times where you get to work from home but it’s not like what they say on the JD. They focus on kpis as if it’s going to help in anyway. Realistically you’re coming in to work just to hit kpis, not even to make sales because all day the leadership team is breathing down your neck for not hitting convos. Instead they should be helping in offering better deals and or service. Talking about service. Telus network is absolutely dogwater. If you make a sale and the client cancels because the network is bad even though you use the tools Telus gives you to see if the network is good in the area you are selling. You get penalized because the client cancels. The directors are useless. THEY DONT COME FROM A SALES BACKGROUND. They don’t understand how to run a team. They literally promote their friends rather then people who actually brings value to the team. Literally useless. Don’t work here. Regardless of what you see or how desperate you are. This place is dogwater. Will make you lose your mind. I really want to expose the names of the leaders but it’s not worth it. If you work here you’ll quickly realize who I’m talking about.

Pros

Great work life balance, that's about it.

Cons

If you're a driven worker who is constantly trying to growth and expand their skill sets, this is not the company for you. You will be put into a box that you cannot break out of despite consistently asking for more and more responsibilties. Pay is significantly less other similar positions at other companies, you can hope to get a maximum of a 3% raise per year. No bonuses or incentive to perform well.
