Pros
The career development opportunities are good. There is a lot of room for personal growth but I find some employees feel that it's up to the company to provide the opportunities, but it's up to the Employee to find the opportunities. The pay is good, the benefits are good. The location is good. I don't like to hear about changes in the newspaper and would prefer to hear about them before the public does. I also think TELUS needs to change their way of treating employees so that they stay in the long run, like for time off and fairness and frequency of promotions.
Cons
Downsides of working for TELUS are: no parking available. overall I'm pretty happy with working for telus so i don't know what I would change. I would like more frequent opportunities for pay raises not based on the bell curve. Vacation requests for people in the customer service department are pretty bad with not being able to get one day off 8 months in advance. there is a union, so if you're a union member then you are not eligible to negotiate your own pay raises or benefits. some of the systems are archaeic and frustrating to use. that's it.
