Pros

In Toronto, you'll get to work with a relatively young up-and-coming crowd. The work is challenging and enjoyable. The management is very competent. The benefits package is top of the line. The variable pay is key and makes the compensation package very comparable to other jobs of the same nature. The recognition and feedback is usually timely and accurate. TELUS makes every effort to keep work/life balance in order. No issues with fairness and respect.

Cons

It is possible to get pigeon-holed into roles. You'll have to work at trying to ensure this doesn't happen. It's easy to get comfortable with work and roles.

Pros

TELUS promotes work life balance and has a lot of general wellness programs for employees. Benefits and wages for frontline staff are very good. TELUS takes the time to give back to the community and encourages their employees to do the same. Variable pay, a percentage bonus based on company/team/individual results, is part of the package for all employees. It gives you a chance to feel your contribution to the company.

Cons

It can be inflexible in terms of time off depending on the department you work in. Entry level manager wages are below other companies for the same type of position.

Pros

TELUS has a value system which is easy to buy into. It also provides good training and support to develop my career. There's the abilty to move to other departments and to get educational funding. Also its an exciting field. New technology and interesting services that are valueable in general. There seems to be a strong emphasis on life balance which other companies lack and also on recognition. The compensation is actually better than rated because the bonuses are significant and a good portion of it is within your control.

Cons

In some areas of TELUS you may have labor issues and politics to deal with. Parking.
